Defective merchandise (DVD TV Series) that was bought before the receipt expiration date but never opened until this weekend.
I had bought the whole series of Sex and the City DVDs in April and May to give as a gift to my daughter for her birthday in May and the rest I gave her for Christmas 2009. She has viewed all of them except part two of season Six, and this weekend she opened the last dvd only to discover that the set has two disk three's and no disk one. Being the honest person I like to think I am I went to the Target store where I ALWAYS shop and tired to return it for an undefective set. The store manager was about as flexable as a lead pipe and on top of that he was very rude and dismissed me like I was a homeless person trying to get money for food! My complaint is more about his attitude and not so much about the fact that he would not take my return. If this is the type of people you have representing you in your stores you will have no one to blame except your HR department when you find yourself laying people off and closing stores for hiring such rude people.
I could have gone in there without a reciept and told them I purchased the DVD in December and becasue it was defective they would they would have exchanged it. I also could have just bought the replacement and used that receipt to return the defective one.
I will either do that or get a replacement from the distributor, or disgard this one and order this for another merchandiser. I can tell you if I buy a replacement and use that receipt to return the defective one, it will be the last time I shop at Target, especially this particular store, for a very long time. I have always been a Target shopper, (i have more receipts than they do LOL) but Kohls, JC Pennys, Macys, OVerstock.com, and many more stores have the same merchandise.
