Sells defective items and refuses to refund money. Ripoff

Target's return policy is outrageous. I bought a DVD and when I got home it would not play in my DVD player. I tried other DVDs I bought that same day at other stores as well as DVDs I have purchased sometime ago just to make sure it was not my DVD player. All of the DVDs played fine EXCEPT for the one I just purchased at Target.

I took it back and exchanged it for the same title. AGAIN, it would not play. Checking the disc I found there were smears and scatches all over it which I even showed the employee. I demanded my money back.

They stated because of copyright laws, industry policy... Blah blah blah... Bullsh^t. Copyright laws do not dictate store policy on refunding money for defective merchandise.

I told them I would not leave until I was issued a refund for defective merchandise. Finally after an hour of arguing with the manager I got my refund.

Yes, I had my receipt. And yes other stores like Best Buy and Borders Books are more than happy to refund money for a defective DVD.

After getting my refund from Target, I purchased the same title at Borders books and it is also defective. They happily refunded my money and pulled the remaining titles off the shelf.

Why can't target understand something? Customer service.

Oh yeah, if you read another part of Target's return policy, you can't return anything they consider "collectible". Now that is vague. They should change their policy to "Expect less. No refunds or exchanges"
