My e-mail adr list was hacked and my adr list was used to send out bogus e-mails, including to my adr. I had a difficult time changing my password, even with AOL help. Some I realize were for the security of my acct. My biggist issue is the fact that they are telling me that they cannot track the identity of the ones that hacked and used my information. I was told that I would need to call my city police dept to file a report and they would then contact AOL to begin proceedings to find the IP adr. With reservations, I called, and as expected, because it only delt with my e-mail adrs, there was nothing they could do, they had never even heard of such a thing. All I want is for whoever was "allowed" to hack into my e-mail stopped. I believe AOL should take a more proactive attitude toward this type of interference to protect their customers. At least provide helpful and truthful information on how to avoid this type of problem in the future and whom to contact if it does happen. I have had AOL for over 20 years and until July 15, Aug 25 & Aug 26 have never had this issue. I have security on my computer, I realize it does not always cover everything, however, I think that AOL should be able to do more to find the perpetrators and work to stop them! I would complain to AOL directly, but have not been able to find the venue to do so.
