False information - AT&T internet

I have recently had to change my AT&T Service plan. I was told by two AT&T reps in phone conversations that I would be able to cancel my land phone while maintaining my current DSL internet service at the current billing rate. After the land line cancellation, I was informed that a new more expensive DSL fee would be imposed.in spite of being told by two AT&T reps this would not be the case. I recently had to purchase a new AT&T internet model expecting to be able to retain the current internet service. I now have to rework my cell phone agreement to include an internet service. AT&T could at least return the expense of a DSL modum which is no longer of use.
