This guy is a conartist! My insurance company hired this engineer to assess the fire damage to my house. I met him and my insurance adjuster out at my house to look at the damage. I showed both of them where the fire had burned the subfloor. The insurance company didn't want to replace the subfloor because they would have to replace the flooring in the kitchen if they had to take out the subfloor. They both agreed it was damaged and we went on looking at everything else. The fire had burned a bunch of joists and the steps and the rest was smoke damage
A few weeks later I received the engineering report from my adjuster and what do you know... There was a statement included in the report that said there was no fire damage to the subfloor only smoke. My contractor finally had to call the building inspector out just to fail the framing inspection due to the burnt subfloor. The building inspector could not believe that an engineer would try to pull something off like this.
Don't use this engineering firm for anything and throw a fit if your insurance company wants to hire him!
