I went to store and purchased an air conditioner unit the night of 6/24 at 7:11P.M. The box appeared to be taped together, however it was the last one on the floor. When I got home and tried to plug it up the motor was extremely loud. I called the store around 09:20. Pm and informed them about the noise and was told there were no more in the store. I brought the merchandise back before they closed at ten hoping to get a rain check. I was told when I got to the register about ten minutes before the store closed there were no rain checks, The nice young lady (cashier) who was standing next to another associate Richard (a mananager) advised her computer shows its over 600 in the store and something is not registering and to go an check. I then sent my daughter first to go check while I was waiting. I then went to check as I was going towards the back my daughter had another unit and I noticed it was not quite the same, I purchased a Haier 8000 btu and she had a 10000 btu unit, So I sent her to the front with the receipt, while I checked on if there were some more. Unfortunately there were none in sight. As I proceeded to walk to the front shyly after 10pm an associate came from the aisle and said, "When I hear that the store closes I need to walk towards the front." I exlained to her that, " I understood but the associated ok'd me to go and check." She continued to advise, "Well I told her to not to send people back here." she started getting really close in my face. I then asked her why was she getting so close and she advised because she couldn't hear. I felt she was trying to be intimidating until I advised her what and why she was doing. She was very very rude and unprofessional, She not only patronized me she patronized her associate by advising advising she told her also the store was closed (at that point she did inform the associate that, it was not her place to let me know her disputes with another customer) I then asked can they accomodate me for the defective unit and she then said, "no it was not the stores fault." I advised her well "you sell it why not back it up" I then advised her I always dealt with Target and I have never had such dissatisfactory treatment. I thanked her and proceeded to the register she followed me. When my daughter advised the price was $279 I told her no I only paid $213. I asked the other young lady to see if another store had my unit and she gave, me a few stores who had my unit. The manager again belittling her colleague and advised well the computers are 36 hours off. I asked for her name and district store number at that time. I am very ashamed of Target because if they hire a manager who is not customer focus and who can belittle her workers by contradicting in front of a customer just to excercise her power as a manager and to prove her ingnorance and selling themselves short of their Value as a company. I also feel I was mistreated because she was rushing to go home rather than stay only 7-10 minutes later to appease a dissatisfied customer., what does that say about their integrity and loyalty not only for the customer but for their Employees.
