I have been unable, in the last 14 months, to get a working system from HP. I want you to help me get a refund from HP or a working system. - SR5710y / P6210f

Here's the history.

1. I bought a computer from HP (System 1) 3/10/09. After about four months it

Started to smoke and would not start. I took the computer to Best Buy where I

(and lots of trouble), HP sent the unit back damaged in a new way – the pins on

The CPU were bent. (No, I had not touched the CPU and neither did Geek Squad in my presence.) Further, they said that my system was out of warranty. I complained to HP and after another 6 weeks, I sent my system back to HP. They repaired it and sent it back to me about 11/16 (System 1/R1).

2. System 1/R1 worked for about a month and failed 1/5/10 – it stopped and would not reboot. I called HP again, sent back the system on 1/8. HP fixed the system quickly and sent back the repaired system 1/13. (System 1/R2)

3. System 1/R2 failed as soon as I tried to turn it on and perhaps it never

Worked. I called HP and sent this system back to HP on 1/20/10 and received it

Back 1/24 (system 1/R3).
4. System 1/R3 worked for a few days and failed 2/1/10. I sent this back to them

2/3. HP sent a new system (NY544AA) and the new system arrived about 3/19

(System 2).
5. System 2 failed after a few days. I called HP and returned this system 3/23.

HP repaired and sent back about 4/1 (System 2/R1).
6. System 2/R1 failed after a few days again. I sent this system back to HP on

4/14 and HP sent back a new system (3CR9456) 5/12/10 (System 3) about 4/20.
7. System 3 failed again after a few days. I sent this to HP 5/12. HP repaired

And sent back 5/12/10 (System 3/R1)
8. Again after a few days, System 3/R1 failed. Then this system would not boot

And just beeped. The beep codes indicated “parity error”. I worked the HP tech support guys, ran through the trouble shooting steps, and they said to send the system back.

I may be off plus or minus one of the repair cycles – it's getting hard to keep track - but I have lots of documentation about this trouble. I've repeatedly asked for a refund or a working system, but they keep saying they only have to repair it.

Is this my fault? No. We currently have six operational computers in the house from various vendors and our computers work for many years without problems. We have a Compaq portable that has worked fine for years. Computers have been plugged into every outlet in the house without a problem for a decade.

And it's not just that the systems have not worked. Each time the systems come back, there are parts missing, loose cables, and dents on the case. The last time I called HP, they were laughing at me and talking to me like I was stupid.

So, what do you think the chances are of HP sending me a working system?

I need you help. I want HP to return my money ($369.99 tax) or send me a

Working system.
