I requested my vacation in August to have the last week of October off. It was approved by a manager and I dropped it in the personnel drop box. At that time, we had no lead CSM.
The week before my vacation was scheduled, I checked the schedule board and it indicated that I was indeed on vacation the last week of October. I was happy, and told several of the CSM's that I would see them November 1. On November 5, when I arrived at work, a CSM confronted me and told me that I needed to speak to personnel about why I did not come in for work the last week of October. I did so, and was told it would be researched.
The schedule for that week has been removed, so I cannot prove what it said. Apparently, they shred all evidence of schedules as soon as the week is over. I will probably not be paid for the vacation time I requested and was approved for. This is Wal-Mart's way of not paying their "associates". It makes payroll look good, and keeps M.A. (Store mgr.) happy with his bonus. Thanks for the chance to vent.
