I entered a contest online to win two free RUSH tickets at the Woodlands in September. The free tickets were promoted as guaranteed to be within the first five rows, and are the most expensive. I was notified through e-mail by 93.7 that I had won, and that they would contact me to come pick up my tickets. They contacted me via telephone on Tuesday, May 25, and I went by their studio to pick up the tickets on May 27.
When I looked at the tickets they gave me, I noticed that these were labeled as "lawn seating", which is in the very back and are the least expensive tickets. I asked the worker who provided them to me if she was sure they were the right tickets and she said they were. I said that this was incorrect, that I had a guarantee within the first five rows, and she replied, "I've never had someone complain about receiving free tickets before". She also said that the person who was responsible for the ticket give-away had been fired.
To put this in perspective, RUSH is my favorite group, I have seen them 5 times but can't afford to be up close. These tickets were a dream for me. My Dad purchased two tickets for me and my brother but when I won these much better seats, he gave them away. I went from front row to back row for my favorite group.
