Living Well Today Magazine Lied about the Placement, Amount, Hidden Fees, Commercial... Everything

Rob Mahanes with selling Living Well Today Magazine came to me about an advertising opportunity. Knowing about contracts and being ripped off in the past with individuals like Yellow Pages I was very stand offish about it all.

He was selling a magazine about living a better life, a magazine that is handed out at Kroger Stores by the front entrance.

The Lies:
1. I only agreed to do it if I was going to be a full page on the back of the magazine for the entire year. "I ended up in the middle of the magazine and the company told me that they don't promise a position." Well they may not promise a placement but I guess Rob Mahanes does.

2. Rob Mahanes told me that I would only have to pay 1,500 for the entire year. This to me was great because I was used to paying that much a month for advertising per book with other companies. He also said that I could pay it all up front and I would get a 20% discount. "I later found out that there is a 44 dollar a month extra fee for service charges which comes to 528 dollars extra. I was also told that their is no 20% discount. I guess there is a 20% discount if you pay it all up front and don't endure the 44 dollars a month fee... Shady."

3. Rob told me that their was going to be a company calling me so I could pick what tv station I would like for my 3 month of free advertising. "Guess what, no company called me and when I was called to pay my bill they said there was no such service. Well their was but they just use the paper advertisement for the ad. I don't know about you but how often have you seen a still picture on tv for advertising.

Well, you won't be able to talk to your salesman either because they won't give you his information. Trust me when I say you won't find him on the net either. I used to be a recruiter and I couldn't find him. I guess this is just another lesson for me to no trust advertisers.

Advertising sales individuals are like leaches sucking the life out of small businesses, incapable of owning their own business as well because of their lack of intelligence.
