Aixim Marketing Mystery Shopper Check Denied, Canada

I deposited the check into my bank. 5 days later the bank said that it had cleared. I removed the funds, did the Western Union and continued to shop for a month. I had closed the account due to moving and 2 years later I was just served with papers for small claims court because the check, in fact, did not clear and it looks like I just took $4400 and ran!!!
