I called Brett owner of Rockwell Pest Solutions for pest control treatment of my home and grounds in an unincorporated rural area. Reason: to control seasonal aggressive rodent population; exterior rodent droppings waste; control actual damage to my property esp. Vehicle and A/C condensor unit which required costly repairs. I advised him it is crucial that he get rodents and damage they have caused under control by providing barriers and emphasized that even within hours rodents can QUICKLY do alot of costly damage. I have 2 dogs in a confined area that I was concerned might get bit by rodent. Bret eyeballed the grounds and saw that entry was gained via one exterior dryer vent giving access to attic. He eyeballed attic & saw no mice but placed a few sticky traps. He closed vent access using my steel wool. Noticed a few outdoor ant hills and sprayed them. Set a few sticky traps inside yard. I was billed $150 initially for this and he told me his service is $65 every 3 mos afterward. A day later, I soon realized this was a FALSE sense of protection when I noticed increased damage to condensor and car engine wires. I called him & he advised I cement some bricks they use as nest & remove items from yard. He said as long as they can't get in I'm ok. The scope of problem still remains: aggressive rodents causing aggressive damage to car & A/C unit. Desperate, I spent $190 and 3 hours buying traps; repellants; poisons. Sent another 2 hours rigging protective field around the A/C and another hour on my car. Next day called him again and requested he please help me as rodents got through protective fields - I pleaded that aggressive rodents require AGGRESSIVE Pest Control company. He looked at it and prescribed I should buy some special metal tape rodents can't bite to keep them off A/C and park my car in garage. He said rodents in my case are nearly impossible to control and left. I bought the tape for another $30. I taped the unit; next day tape pieces were chewed off and plug wires were chewed through. I hoped that after spending $150 then another $220 not to mention $855 for car electrical repair. I wonder why I'm having to pay $150 to also pay for rodent treatment; repairs; and time I've invested in finding my own solutions? No where on his invoice does it say no refund, so when I asked him for it he refused. So for $150 I supposedly got 10 sticky traps that are 5 for $1 at 99 cent store. 4 of the traps could not work because rodents put leaves to enable walking on them and the other 6 were empty. I got a list of things I needed to buy, paid $220 in rodent treatments; $855 in repairs: 'donated' steel wool; and got lip service. Desperate, I called Vector control they came out next day and put bait stations. Over night, I witnessed a dramatic drop in rodent activity and damage - they provided helpful information on rodent behavior & safety precautions taken around my pets even though they're confined. Their SERVICES are entirely FREE of charge!
