William Victor James and I were close friends. At least I thought we were. He leaned on me for support, both mental and financial support ever since he lost his job. I have had to take an early medical retirement and have a small pension, but I still loaned him the money because I trusted him and it hurt me to see him hurt. He called me crying one day because he had no food in the house and I went down to the store and bought $100.00 worth of groceries for him. Another time, he needed money for a prescription from the Doctor, and again, he called me asking for the money which turned out to be $100.00. Another time, he neede $300.00 dollars to help him finish paying his house payment and came and said that if I loaned him the $300.00 right then, when he got his unemployment check in, my $300.00 would come right off the top. Well needless to say, when his unemployment check came in, he had other plans for that $300.
