I purchesd a used 1998 Dadge Grand Caravn at 9:10, ten minutes after the store had closed.
May 8th
My transmission went out at 3:25 in the after noon, less than 24 hours, this van was suposebly checked and in excelent condetion as Saturn of Mesquite had claimed. I called them to see what can be done and the answer was, bring it over, we are sure it is a minor thing. I get a call from Rick Humfry which was the sales person that sold me the van to say, you know you bought this AS IS no warrnty, I said yah, he said well, we are going to help you out, we are going to rebuild the transmission for you, but you have to pay $200.00 to cover some expenses. I said, well, paused for few and said, sure, go ahead.
May 19th
I called Saturn of Mesquite to find out what is the latest on my Van & got the old fashion say "LET ME CALL THEM AND FIND OUT". To start with Saturn Should have been on top of it and had an answer on when it was suppose to finish. I did not pick my Van untill MAY 26th & gave me 6 monthes warranty on the transmission only
July 15th
Transmission is slipping, I called them back and said, my transmission is slipping, they told me to bring it in for repairs again. I called a towing truck and took the Van to them, and did not hear from them for a week, so I called them back and asked what is the latest and seemed like no one new what the heck I was talking about. Then I got to the right guy and said, LET ME CALL & FIND OUT. And called me back and said it should be ready today around 5:00. I get a call from that Guy to say that my van is READY and to come to pick it up. When I got there, my van was not there & no one new where it was. The transmission shop had already closed and they could not get a hold of them to see if they dropped the van of or not. Saturn told me to go home and check back with them on Monday, I told them I did not have a car, so they gave me a loaner like they done me a favor.
July 28th.
I called them to see if my Van been back, they said yah, they just droped it off, I went and got the van then, when I got there I asked them why did it take so long, they said oh, the transmission shop had to rebuild it twice. I was like, twice? Why? They said, oh they had a problem with it. I shook my head and left. All this time I did not know that my Van was at a very small shop, no name, HOW COULD A CAR DEALERSHIP work with a shop like this? Instead of national transmission shop like Allstate or close to that?
First week of Oct.
TRANSMISSION IS OUT AGAIN, I called Saturn of Mesquite and they said, oh we are sorry, bring it in we will fix it again, this is the third time the darn transmission goes out. After 2 more weeks I get the Van & running ok.
Dec 28
Transmission is slipping again. Of course satrun of Mesquite did not want to have to do anything with it now, I called the Transmission shop and talk to the woner that told me to bring it in and he will fix it for free and extend the warrnty. Thanks to Charlie, he is a good ole boy.
My van is running ok for now, Saturn of Mesquite RIPED ME OFF, but I am paying them back by Driving the van with a Sign on it that sayes VICTIM OF SATURN OF MESQUITE, with my Phone Number on it, you will be supprised how many calls I got and told them what happend and they said they would not buy a car from there. Saturn of Mesquite, did not loose just me, they lost other customers too. That's my story & I am sticking to it.
