Breson Enterprises Never actually ordered or delivered the furniture I paid fo

Back on November 9, I placed an order for a custom built sectional sofa. I agreed to pay in cash as he was offering a discount for either cash or check. Since the store had been in that location for quite some time, I felt the risk was low (obviously, I was wrong). I paid approximately $4700 for the sofa including delivery. I was told that it would be delivered within 8-10 weeks which seemed reasonable to me.

After waiting for approximately 12 weeks (I went easy on him since it was over the holidays), I still hadn't heard anything. Both myself and my Interior Designer called multiple times. At first Larry kept saying that he would check and usually give an excuse that he couldn't get hold of anyone. It became harder and harder to contact Larry between "vacations" and snow.

My designer was able to get his email address, and he responded there a couple times saying that either he was still pursuing it, or, later on, that it was almost ready to ship. Finally, two weeks ago, he said that it was ready to deliver and that he needed my delivery address (which he already had, but that's a minor issue). One of his employees called to say that it would be delivered during the latter half of last week. When we tried to call to get a more exact date, the phones were no longer being answered. We left messages, but there were no calls back. I went by the store yesterday, but they were not open. All of the windows are covered over with mattresses. Looking between them, I can still see some furniture laying around, but it's hard to tell when the last time was that someone was there.

Getting frustrated, we contacted Norwalk (the furniture manufacturer) directly. They informed us that they never started production on my sofa. They had received an initial order, but Larry never sent them the money so they never started on it. Obviously, Larry never had any intention of delivering me my sofa.

According to someone at a different Luxe furniture store (under a different owner), there have been quite a few people with issues at this Luxe store. I contacted the police and filed a report. Hopefully if enough other people do the same, they will eventually gather enough information to go after these people and arrest them.
