I ordered the Silky Smooth Hair Remover off of a TV ad from Igia. They advertised one for $19.95, and then at the end of the ad made it sound even better by adding a second Silky smooth hair remover for free, plus an additional aloe vera skin gel, all for just $19.95. Nowhere in their ad did they say that shipping was going to cost me 15.70!!! And it was a small box too.
I get my Visa statement, and they charged me $35.65 for a $19.95 product. I was immediately angry, tried to call them, and their customer service department disconnected me every single time, even when I called back immediately - they didn't even say anything, just disconnected me. I also sent several Emails complaining and asking them to refund my money and asking where to send the product back to, and never got an answer. I sent the product back today (9/22/03) to the Reno, Nevada address I provided for you above.
The Silky Smooth Hair Remover does not work - it's a total ripoff. It didn't remove any hair whatsoever.
I have sent out a buyer beware warning to everyone I know. I have also contacted my credit card company about this situation to dispute the charge, and they are being helpful.
I want to know if this is going to be forwarded to the Attorney General's Office in the state of Nevada? Please stop Igia from ripping off more innocent consumers!!!
