Lexus of Massapequa

I was shopping around for a Lexus SUV and mistakenly went to Lexus of Massapequa where I had a horrible experience. I was speaking with a salesman named Bertrm Hall who asked me for a deposit on a car that he claimed was limited in availability (only one in the tri-state area). He assured me that the deposit on my credit card was 100% refundable and that he needed the deposit in order to hold the car. I left the deposit along with completing a non-binding purchase order. I explained to the salesman that I am not purchasing the vehicle until I speak to my husband and he understood and asked me to call him the following day for the go-ahead. That night when my husband reviewed the purchase order he noticed some issues that made him very concerned (missing and unclear items previously negotiated). The next day he called the Finance Manager, Larry Smath, who was extremely unprofessional and was verbally attacking my husband because of his questions and concerns. My husband then told him we don't want to purchase the car through him. Mr. Smath began to get very loud and obnoxious and refused to refund the deposit when asked. However, under regulation Z it states " If I do not accept the terms when presented, I may cancel this order and my deposit will be refunded." I definitely did not accept the terms from the purchase order to the financing. But he said he started prepping the car even though I did not ask him to! He was condescending and belittling with his remarks and was also stating lies. The next day my husband spoke to the General Manager, Rich Healy, who was even more rude and obnoxious and was even threatening at times. My husband gave the dealership the courtesy in requesting a refund before speaking with the credit card company and was appalled by the response and attitude he received. We both did not feel comfortable doing business with them after that whole ordeal. We ended up buying the same exact vehicle elsewhere where we were treated like valued customers. Do not buy from Lexus of Massapequa, go to Rallye Lexus!
