On or about 12/12 I received a call on my cell phone when traveling home from work. I was given a price of $19.10 per month for 20 months, for magazines and had 10 days to cancel if I changed my mind. The next day I decided that I was not interested in them so I started trying to contact them at 1-800-259-1649. On numerous calls I was put on hold and then cut off. About 6 days from when I had talked with them about the subscription, I received a bill for $57.48 a month for 20 months. That's when I contacted my financial institute in an attempt to stop them from charging anything to my account. At that time the financial institute had the same actions when they called on my behalf, so they immediately halted all charges. I have since had to send several statements to the financial institutes fraud department, as they are now doing a full investigation in to why I have been so unfairly treated on the matter. Within a week or so I was then contacted by Publishers Guide wanting to know what was going on with my payment. That's when I told them what was going on and that I had tried numerous times to cancel, but was unable to do so within the grace period because of their poor service. The man that I dealt with told me that they had already paid for the magazines from their subscribers and they could not stop them. I told him that was their fault by not honoring their customers enough to answer the phone and not hang up on them. Now, I continue to receive a bill in the mail for magazines that I attempted to stop within the time frame given to me and want to know what I need to do to stop this harassment and unfairness on their part.
