I purchased clothing at Bealls Florida and they talk me into 10% off if I sign up for their credit card. I did and then never recieved a credit card. I called on October 28 and asked why I had not recieve a statement. They took information and was going to send statement to Alton, Il. Temporary address. Made payment on October 28 by phone, girl asked me if I wanted a reward program on credit card, I told her I never get them and said no. Now they called me 5 months later and said, I owe them $102.53 and still have never recieved credit card or statements. Recieved collection call on February 12 for a balance owed for $102.53. I told them I don't have a account with Bealls Florida, and they said I did. Ok then what is my account number I asked them for proof and they hung up on me with no call back. I called Bealls Florida and they said that I had a balance of $102.53 but would not give me the address or number of the account, said they could not give me information on the telephone. I explained to them that I had not recieved any statements or phone calls from them and if I would have know that there was out standing balance I would taken action to cancel or have paid it! They told me it was a Life Style charge for $49.99 and two $25.00 late fees and to interest charges for 1.41 and 1.49 total $102.53. They also told me that my credit card and statements had been returned to them and they never tried to contact me till the Collection Department called me on February 12. I think this whole thing could have been resolved at an early state if Bealls Florida would have done there job. I don't feel that a should have to pay these false charges.
