Our order was for two gold clad coins at $19.95 each, with $4.95 added for shipping and handling. Afterward, a confirmation email arrived listing extra items that we never agreed to buy, which pushed the order total to $337.75.
Item numbers 19286 and 18193 were never part of our order. We spent the whole day trying to reach customer service at 1-800-452-4381. The recording on that line says the office is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 6pm and on Friday from 9am to 3pm. Yet each time we phoned, many times during the day and well within those hours, the recording told us the office was closed.
We are certain the charges billed to us are fraudulent. We have contacted our bank and alerted our accounting department. National Collectors Mint is acting neither ethically nor fairly. Consider how many people, maybe elderly or, like us, living on limited resources, are being lied to and scammed by this company. We hope we will not have to pay these unauthorized charges and that the company is punished for its dishonest and unethical conduct.
We intend to report this to the Better Business Bureau as well as to the Attorney General's Office in Kentucky. Scams like this need to be shut down right away. The advertisement ran on national TV, and it destroys the trust people have when they try to invest in gold coins and the like for their future.
