Our credit card was charged $12.99 a month for more than six months before we even noticed. Shame on us. When I called, they asked for my "membership number". I finally got a human and told her I didn't even know what I was a "member" of.
She explained that when my husband had ordered some shirts and stuff from Haband online, he had "received a trial membership" to their services, and since he didn't cancel it, he became a member. Lucky guy.
I asked how to go about cancelling his membership, and had to listen to her long sales pitch about how wonderful their service was - they provide INFORMATION about "rebates, discounts, coupons and bargains" at restaurants and stores, etc.
It's a good thing I'm a patient person. I listened to all that BS and then FINALLY she gave me a cancellation number and said it would take effect immediately. You can be sure I'll be checking my next credit card statement.
