Today, January 27, my sister Norma called me at home to inform me that on January 01, my father picked up my mother's RX and did not realize the RX was for Rosa Zambrano not Rosa Zuniga. My mother Rosa is undergoing Chemotherapy at this time and my sister is helping with the issuing of her present medications. This morning my sister called Rite Aid Pharmacy in Livingston and spoke with Pharmacist Tharm regarding the error. Mr. Tharm told my sister Norma that eventhough my mother takes this medication, he could not refill the medication for my mother because Medical does not cover it. Mr. Tharm did not offer to correct the problem by assisting my sister to bring back the bottle and he would provide my mother with the correct prescription. The city of Livingston has been my parents resident for over 50 years and unfortunately my family has been victims of negligence by your staff at this pharmacy. Your staff have forgotten that it is their responsibility to provide adequate care for all patients and to properly inform, provide and treat patients properly. Under the Law of HEPA your location in Livingston are negligent, not providing the correct direction, not requesting the patient to come to their location for apology and/or doing what needs to be done to provide my mother with her correct medication covered under medical. That respoonse from Mr. Tharm was inappropriate and irresponsible. He and his staff need to be held responsible and audited to confirm that they are informing the Corporate office of these types of errors on their part. Also, informing the customer with apologies, corrective action and informing the patient with proper information to provide to their doctor of the occurence. I am very upset and may need to seek representation by an attorney if need be.
