This is the second time this place has sold me a defective product. The first time, I didn't bring it back (an am/fm radio) as I didn't have the receipt. I still have the radio though. I did tell the guy who owns the store that it stopped working after a few days, and he just shrugged, so I decided I was not ever going to buy any electronic product from there ever again.
Last week my can opener broke (manual) so I bought one at a store called Dollar World Plus because it's close to me. I didn't have occasion to use it until about a week later. I tried to open a can of soup, and it wasn't working. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was defective, so I brought it back with my receipt, and very politely told the woman that I recently bought this here, it's defective, and would just like an exchange for a working one. She shook her head at me and said "No exchange, no refund" I said "But it is defective, and I just want one that works. Again she shook her head at me, so I said "Listen, I bought this here assuming it worked, and it doesn't work, and I think it's only fair that you exchange it for me" and she says "we never say it works" I said "You can't sell products that don't work to unsuspecting people" and she says "Yes we can, we have signs" then she told me that the Dollar store doesn't do exchange or refunds. I was so frustrated, I just told her I was going to file a complaint, and write all of the local the papers and left. I had been shopping at this store for well over 5 years, but I will never set foot in there again.
