Pursued, pertinent information omitted, misinformed, sold a bill of goods and left high and dry, literally.
When most people rent a lake home with dock access, it's not a stretch to expect water to be in the lake. There is not a great deal of value in a "treacherous at best" dock access to an empty lake that doesn't have any boat ramps in working condition.
Should I have expected to bring my climbing gear and repel down to the dock with my coolers and kids; a boat dock that was, by the way, currently under construction with a dock builder barge tied up to it!
So what is the inherent responsibility of a company that markets such a property or is it buyer beware.
Ask good questions and get important details in writing, preferably establish an email trail, and don't be afraid to address the fine points of the lease.
