Fixeuro.com Transmission Repair, Fixed less than one year ago, now back in Shop over a Month, still not repaired

I had my transmission rebuilt in March of last year by Freddies transmission. A few weeks ago the transmission started slipping between gears. I dropped the car off on December the 17th and as of today January 20th the car still has not been repaired.
The owner of the shop has only returned my phone call in regards to the matter 1 out of 27 times. I honestly feel that this shop is trying to avoid repairing my vehicle, hoping that I will pick the car up and they will not have to repair it. I feel that I have no recourse in the matter as it is an independently owned shop, but feel that I have been treated horribly over the last month.
I have been to the shop two times in person, the first time on December 28th, when I was told that the car would be finished January the 4th. When I was told the vehicle wasn't done that day I called and was told that it would be finished by the 8th, which didn't happen, and then was "guaranteed" that it would be done by the 15th, which again didn't happen.
I called the shop at 5:45pm on January 15 and left a message for Freddie who assured me the car would be done by this day. I was then called back by Joe at 6:30pm, Joe went through a long story about Freddie being sick, then told me that my vehicle was costing their shop money, that there were other cars that had to be completed first because they were paying for their repairs and mine was warranty work. Joe then said that he wanted to "be frank" with me and said that he "hadn't even paid the shops January rent", and if they didn't complete the other jobs first his landlord would be at his shop every day telling him how to run his business. He offered, after a month of having my vehicle, for me to pick it up, since driving it "wouldn't hurt it", he said they would call me when the new transmission was ready to be put in the vehicle. I refused to pick it up because I felt that they would not honor their warranty since my vehicle is close to being out of warranty.
I then visited the shop on January the 18th, a day in which neither owner was present, but spoke to Freddie over the phone and was told it would be done by today January the 20th, and as of my 3:00pm phone call I was told that it is still being worked on and will not be finished today, and that the owner was working on the vehicle so he was unable to talk to me but would call me back, which again I have been told 27 times and it has happened once.
I am frustrated beyond belief with this company, this is my wifes vehicle, and I have been forced to take many hours out of my schedule at work in order to make time to take her to work, as the 40$ a day rental car became too expensive. Any help in resolving this matter, and a fair warning to any future customers would be greatly appreciated, as this is by far the worst experience as a customer that I have ever suffered through.
Thank you for your time.
Chris H
