John Deere Reliable Tractors
Did not stand by their product

Purchased a LT180 from Stafford a John Deere dealership located in Vald. Ga. Mowed 1 time and warranty said it was the bearings and said they replaced them. It was in the shop for more than 4 weeks while I used the salesman's personal mower that did great. Got mine back that first season mowed twice, again the LT180 JD tore up. Stafford got it and said it was the bearings. I used the salesman's personal mower again for about 9 weeks. No problems. Got mine back just in time to put up for the season. Next year, mowed twice the LT180 JD tore up again, I asked salesman if they would swap me a used mower that worked I didn't care if it was older than my new one as long as it would work. Salesman took my LT180 JD back to shop and left his again and had no problems. This time they said my LT180 JD steering pin had broken. After about 3months I got mine back. Asked again about trading my so called NEW mower for anything that would work and not fall apart. They wouldn't. I then said instead of John Deere Green it should be John Deere Lemon Yellow! By this time when I got mine back the season was over. The next year first time mowing, the mower was not cutting. Changed blades using universal blades that salesman said can only go on one way. Mowed 3 strips and the bearings blew out (again). About a week later I was able to get mower to shop. They fixed it in about 2weeks as I used the salesman's mower that worked great as usual. Then told me the warranty had ran out 14 days prior to me bringing the mower in. They in turn said the blades were installed upside down. After informing them they couldn't be because of them only being able to go on one way and the bearings had always been a problem and it's the same thing every season since day one of buying the lemon LT180 JD. I complained to John Deere about their defective product but they informed me that the dealer said it was because of up side down blades that the bearings went out. Of course I let them know that was not true. Told them of how the Lemon LT 180 JD had been from the start and nobody had any information on all the warranty issues regarding my mower. (Strange isn't it?) Needless to say John Deere no longer contacted me and the dealer demanded payment in which they decided to only charge about 1/2 of what they originally said. Fine. I paid it but after I let the dealership know how I thought it was a sorry way of doing business and how I couldn't believe that John Deere didn't and wouldn't stand behind their products. Especially since it was the same exact problem it had always been. Moral of this experience. DON'T EVER By A John Deere product, they won't and don't stand by them.
