I rented from Ali Shadbeh for a little over a year. The residence I rented from him was a poorly maintained house in east Portland. Ali completely neglected basic repairs and maintenance on the property and would always come up with excuses when ever I needed him to come out and fix something, forcing me to fix it and bill him for it.
After I moved out, he sent me a bill for over $3000 claiming he had to replace all the carpet in the house at $30 a sq foot, repaint every room in the house, refinish the deck, replace the roofing, relandscape the yard and various other miscellaneous things, many of which were issues that I had requested he fixed while I was living there.
After receiving his $3000 bill which was little more than a piece of paper saying "You owe me $3000 of these items ".."", I requested that he photo copy me the receipts of his expenses and mail them to me before I paid for anything he had listed. Needless to say, I have not heard back from him.
