When we told our landlord we were moving out of their single family house rental, the landlord became very angry and our good relationship suddenly ended. We gave a 30 day notice and sent a certified letter of notice to vacate and requested to be present at the inspection to get our $2000 security deposit back.
The landlord ignored our request to be present at the inspection and is sueing us for $50,000 damages to the property which is totally bogus and fraudent. He actually says it is $25,000 but doubled because he says its was waste & wanton. He is sueing for damages that are grossly exaggerated, false, and malicious such as:
-Landscape - He is charging us to replace the bushes in the front of the house and adding bushes to the side of the house
- Kitchen floor tile replace The house is 20 years old and the tile was worn due to ordinary wear & tear
Carpet - wall to wall carpet replaced. He alledged it was ruined. Only a few stains which were ordinary wear & tear. I have pictures.
Professional Painting - He is charging us to have the entire house painted.
Replace Stove - it was not damaged but was old and did not work well.
- Damage to deck. The deck was old and rotting and needed to be replaced. He is charges us to replace the 20 year old deck
There is more but this is most of the damages that he is alleging. We totally deny and will fight him in Court. Please beware of these people, they are totally rip off/scam artists.
