For all of you who have been wondering about 'Solotica' colored contacts, so highly touted on the internet with videos, etc., beware.
First of all, they are NOT from Brazil, at least, that is not where they are distributed from. They are being peddled by a Mr. Jhoao Cateriano, who has given PayPal his address as being in Park City, Utah. Also, he has given PayPal two phone numbers that are allegedly his home and cell phone numbers. I called both numbers and encountered Spanish speaking people. I speak Spanish and was able to ascertain that these people ALLEGE not to know Mr. Cateriano, or to be in the contact lens business.
I conducted this investigation because my PayPal account shows that Mr. Cateriano received payment from me in the amount of $129.98 USD on October 22. As of October 29, Mr. Cateriano has made no attempt to ship nor has he provided PayPal with any shipping information. This is highly suspect and unusual. I have dealt with contact lense vendors frequently and they normally ship immediately after the funds clear PayPal. Couple this with the bogus phone phone numbers and bingo! I have opened a dispute with PayPal, who has been very good in the past in recovering my funds from another suspect contact lense vendor. This Cateriano character also ONLY accepts PayPal, which is a little flakey.
Perhaps Cateriano is scrambling to now order them from Brazil, which may be the reason he has not shipped. The operation comes across like a low-rent scenario that probably has no in-house stock and waits for your money. Then they contact Brazil (if that's where the lenses are manufactured), pay them, then the lenses are shipped to Utah. Then, to you. No wonder people have said it takes a month or more to receive them, assuming they receive them.
Who holds your money for a week without shipping? Someone who is either going to rip you off or does not have the goods (yet) to ship. Is it worth it?
