Merry Maids
Biggest letdown eve

My husband had a heart transplant six years ago and he is disabled and I work fulltime in a stressful job. I fully disclose I am a RN who has high expectations of what clean should be. I was having a hard time working all week and not wanting to spend my time doing extensive cleaning. According to their shining brochure the services they promised seemed to good to be true and they are. A teenager could clean better than what I received. I was so excited to walk in my house tonight and see it all clean only to find everything half done. I don't even think they mopped or if they did they did not move the small rug in my foyer. They did not clean under the toaster, clean the stove, clean my toilets very well and I could go on an on. When I called to complain, they initially apologized and said they would come out on Monday and make things right. I requested a specific person who had done my daughters house the previous week and even did extra things not included. I asked that that person be sent to my house. Still not happy, but resigned to they have my money what am I going to do, I tried to let it go. An hour later they call back to argue saying that the girl "admitted" to not cleaning under the toaster (nor moving anything else on the kitchen counter) nor doing the microwave or the backsplash, etc... And that it would take several visits to "get it right" as there was build up. I do not have a filthy house and they completely insulted me. Then they were perturbed I could not take time off from work to "discuss". I work very hard for my money and I would think that customer service would be important to them, especially a first time customer. I am very angry that they argued with me, stressed me out after a long work week and just did not seem to care, as they are sending the same people out who did a crummy job the first time and I want them back??? The saying must be right if you want something done correctly you just have to do it yourself. I am going to explore other options, especially as I see I am not alone in my feelings and overreacting like my husband thinks. People who specialize in cleaning should take pride in their work. Would you want to come to a hospital and be taken care of by a nurse who delivers substandard care? I know a clean floor is not a life and death issue, but having an immunocompromised spouse is. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this company if you want a house you clean yourself and wanted the extras. Do not believe what you read.
