I bought a new HP Pavilion DV6 laptop from PC World when my Dell gave up the ghost. I find that the more I delve into the workings of this machine (and Windows Vista) more and more doesn't actually work properly. I requested a downgrade to Windows XP Pro but received an e-mail that this could not be done as the machine was designed for Vista. I know I am thick but if it is designed for Vista surely every aspect should work? Now to the specifics. The webcam fails to work on a regular basis, so much so that I have now bought a LogiTech Webcam that works flawlessly. Next to the sound. If I got to iTunes and want to play a tune I have to go to the control panel and fart about with various settings to get it to work. If I then switch to youtueb (for example) I have to do the same. I am now getting bored even writing this. Basically, the more I use this machine the less impressed I become. I am now in the process of weaning myself off the reliance on IT. What a disappointment.
