I went in to get new tires at Tire Works. They had a promotion: apply for a CFNA card and get 25 dollars off your bill. So I applied for the card with the intent of paying it off when I got the statement.
I got the tires on 7/17/25. On 8/19/25, I got the statement and called to pay it off the same day, as it had a 39% interest rate. They said I could either use a check or a debit card. Well, who uses checks anymore? So, I gave them my debit card. They said there was a charge of 42 dollars to use the debit card to pay off the card amount of 1,202.31—a card fee, they said.
Now today, 9/5/25, I get a letter stating that I owe them 33.99 dollars more for a late charge, as they said the bill was due on the 18th, but I did not get the first statement until the 19th, plus a 3-dollar paper fee. What a scam they are. So it cost me 50 dollars to get a 25-dollar discount.
Well, you know where Firestone can go. Even though I have very high credit and I will pay, I hate a thief, and that's what they are—legalized theft. There should be a law for the consumer!
