I ordered the same free trial of colotox and acai pure for only $4.95 shipping each as most of you. I did not see ANY thing in the small print about sending the product back. I was very careful about reading the small print and keeping track of the days to make sure I canceled in time so I would not have another shipment before I even had a chance to try the product.
Like so many of you, I had not received the product when the cancellation date was approaching. I called and tried to cancel the free trial and they told me it had been shipped. I told them I had not received it. I then told them to cancel any future shipments. They tried to convince me to try the product first. However, I was adamant and told them I could always call them back if I liked the product once I did receive it since they assured me my "free" trial was already on its way.
I received the product about 10 days later. I did try it but it was really useless.
This was in January. I did not hear from them until August 7. I received an e-mail that was an invoice and a collections letter. They stated that my credit card had been declined several times and they were going to give me this opportunity to clear this up before they sent it to collections. (My card had been replaced by my bank because the information had been compromised at a business where my card had been used). Anyway, they had all my information and yet did not contact me in all this time.
When I received the e-mail, I immediately called Justin-the Collector. I left a message on his voice mail that I did not realize I was required to return the product but would do so immediately. I then packaged the product and sent it by mail with delivery confirmation receipt.
Today August 27 Justin called me and told me that they had returned the package to me because it is out of the return time frame. I also no longer owe $38.95 per item, I now owe $56.95 per item. And if I do not pay that within 3 days, he will no longer be able to help me. My bill will go to COLLECTIONS!!! And the amount that will be sent to collections will be over $156.95 EACH. So I would owe $313.90. I HAVE TO PAY SOMETHING TODAY OR HE CAN NOT HELP ME.
The threat, the fear, I was almost sick by the time I hung up the phone. I live on social security and do not have any money until the beginning of next month. I tried to explain that to him. But that made no difference. There was no way payment could not be made next week. After all this time next week was too long.
Anyone, out there with any suggestions. I hate to get a ding on my credit but this makes me wonder if it would be a defensible case. Anyone know or have any ideas?
