I never order products like this, but this one uses Rachel Ray, Oprah, ABC and CBS news in their "Media Spotlight", so I figured... Why not give this Acai Pure and Colotox combo a try? It's RISK FREE, right? For $3.95 or $4.95 or whatever they said... Why not? Here's my saga...
Without reading any of the fine print (yes, my mistake, but I didn't realize there WAS any, and believe me, they don't advertise it), I quickly clicked through the order process for both products, not realizing that I missed the part where you have to UNcheck two boxes if you don't want Hoodia gum and Hoodia Water added to your order, at $29.95 EACH, so, the next day I saw two charges on my credit card for $44.95 EACH. I immediately went back and read the fine print and realized that I'd ordered, by mistake, these two extra products with BOTH the Acai Pure and the Colotox, so now I have two extra of each Hoodia product as well (I noticed no effectiveness from either of these either).
I read further to see that they will be automatically send the same shipment every month (for $90/month) unless I cancel, AND that I had also been unwittingly enrolled in some OTHER monthly fee "club" called Fitness something (I can't even FIND info on that from the AcaiPure or Colotox websites now), for another automatic $29.95/mo! So instead of a *risk free* $4.95 order, I've just signed up for about $120/month auto withdrawal from my credit card!
I immediately called the Fitness 'club' phone number and canceled THAT (they did answer the phone and were very helpful, no problem). I then began trying to contact Acaipure and Colotox by phone and email to cancel my "membership". I got zero response to my emails, and the phone left a wait time of 60-65 minutes, so I finally left several messages including my order numbers and my cancel request. No response there, either.
After waiting almost 4 weeks for the products, I did begin using them both. When they arrived, I noticed that the ingredients labels on AcaiPure and Colotox show IDENTICAL ingredients, with the exception of Acai berry in one product, which I found a bit mysterious. At the end of 30 days of taking both products, I felt NO DIFFERENT than I had when I started, and I actually WEIGHED MORE than I ever have, even being on a 1200-1500 calorie a day diet!
Assuming it was just something stupid I'd fallen for, I also assumed my membership had been canceled and chalked it up to a learning experience. One month later, I saw two new charges for two new shipments on my credit card again for $44.95 each! The AcaiPure arrived in the mail the next day, but the Colotox hasn't arrived yet, a week later.
I emailed a complaint, but this time I also called and stayed on the phone for the entire 42-minute wait time until I got a person. I requested an RMA number so I could (at MY cost, and with a 15% restock charge) return the products and told them to cancel future shipments. She gave me an RMA number, but she also said that she didn't show anywhere where my "account" had ever been opened (i.E. It never had any cancelation changes made to it based on my earlier messages and emails), but she said it was taken care of now and that I could return both products in the same package.
The same day I received an email saying if I wanted to keep the products, they would offer me an instant $20.00 credit. Thinking I'll probably regret this, but willing to give it a try, I said yes... I did see the credit show up right away on my credit card.
The second bottle still has yet to arrive, I feel no better, no healthier, I weigh more than I ever have, and I'm out something like $160.00. For that much, I could've bought myself an exercise bike two months ago and lost the 20 pounds myself!
I hope this story helps. If you order something online READ THE FINE PRINT carefully. It's there, even if it's hard to find. And don't expect to wake up a week after starting the products, 10-25 pounds lighter.
