Verizon overcharges on long distance calls! 147 TIMES my usual charge.
I normally use an outside carrier to make long distance calls. For calls to China I pay only 4 cents/minute. This rate or similar is available by many carriers. I forgot to enter the digits to get a different carrier and was charged $375.00 (!) PLUS tax of $70.00 for the exact same phone call which I would normally pay about $3.00 for. One little error of moment of forgetfulness and they charge you an extortionary rate. I talked with them and they offered me a 'discount' of 40%, so I'd only pay about $200.00 for the call. WHERE THE HELL IS THE FCC?!!! Has anyone else been through this? Any suggestions? Thanks!
