My husband and I recently purchased what was represented to us as a Solid Hardwood Bedframe from Ashley Furniture in the nearby Municipality of Temiskaming Shores. Due to the damages to the headboard clearly apparent upon opening the shipping box (corner broken off) we were able to see that the frame was clearly made from a pressed cardboard fibre painted and veneered to look like real wood. Also large patch the "plastic" moulding on the footboard bed was missing the finish also making the composite material underneath clearly apparent. This is clearly misrepresentation of Product. Had we been told the frame was composed of plastic and cardboard fibre we never would have purchased this unit. Having read the review of this company since the purchase of this Bed... I'm frankly surprised at the the sheer volume of complaints! Let me just say... We are already armed with the knowledge that We will likely be accused of damaging this unit ourselves even though it was clearly damaged inside the shipping crate... As appears to be Ashley's policy to avoid taking responsibility for shipping damage.instead... We will concede to the old adage "Buyer Beware"... And advise any potential buyers we know to avoid purchasing any product from Ashley Furniture... Due to it's inferior quality and misrepresentaion of the materials used in he manufacturing process... Dishonest representation of this product may have gotten $1400.00 out of us but I promise you it will be the last you ever get from us!
