WATCH OUT FOR SCAMS - Discounted theme park tickets

While vacationing in Orlando, Fl., at the Thrifty Car Rental there is a booth that offers discounted park tickets. You must first go to a 90 min. Sales pitch (turned out to be almost 3 hours) provided by Westgate Resorts to get your discount.

Of course I went to Orlando to go to the parks, so why wouldn't I be interested in discounted tickets for a family of 5. The representatives at the booths work for Westgate & get a commission for every person they send. The woman there gave me a copy of the reservation form with the ticket price mark written in ink total price $184.99 for 5 adults. She knew very well that ink marks will not be accepted when you try to redeem the form for your tickets, which you can only do after the presentation.

If I wanted the park tickets to Universal Studios I had to pay $284.99 instead of the $184.99 that she had written in pen, because that's what the computer rings up. I was scammed into going to Westgate to hear about their timeshares when she knew I was not going to get the tickets for the price she wrote in ink. I went back to Thrifty to talk to her & she said "She's sorry, that she made a mistake" (that's bull). She knew I was going to inherit that problem, but she didn't care, she got her commission. I asked her "Why does your paper have $284.99 and my copy has $184.99? Where did you get the 1 from?". She replied "I don't know" (bull again). I left to go back to the gifting office (where you pick up the tickets)& then called her manager to complain to see if he can honor what she had written & initialed. He put me on hold and then told me that she quoted me the $184.99 for 3 people, not 5. That's a big lie I told him, as the paper clearly says a party of 5 and even the people at the gifting office vouched for me to the manager that it said for 5 people. He, the manager did nothing. It was like talking to deaf ears. I left there totally disgusted with no trust with Westgate. I'm so glad I did not buy any timeshare from them, although I was contemplating it. My experience with the sales rep. At the car rental left a sour taste in my mouth. If they can pull that scam & be so uncooperative with ticket purchases, just imagine the headaches that can happen with a timeshare purchase. Beware!
