It's ridiculous that Larry and Linsey (if that is her real name) should be ashamed at what they call a living. They are living off of lies and deceit in order to fill their pockets. So many things should trigger questions about this company and I don't know why some of these universities haven't tried shutting these morons down.
First of all, they are running out of a satellite office, which is a building that rents out single offices and has one secretary, hmmm, you might have seen Dateline NBC do a piece on scam businesses that operate this way. Second, when you call Linsey's number it says "please don't leave a message because I don't check it, but if your a client leave a message and I will get back to you." These are two contradictory statements. If I was doing business with a company that states they don't check their messages I would begin to question what they are doing. Third, anytime a company uses an email that is aol.com, hotmail.com, ect. You should begin to question how big they are. If this was a legit company they would have a full service website and their own email address.
Linsey sent me some sample posters to take a look at, they looked good, a bit faded, but nice for the most part. The first thing that stood out was the fact that the college emblem wasn't anywhere on the poster, just the name of the college spelled out. Hmmm, more questions arise.
I spoke with Larry O'Scumbag and he stated that he wanted me to get out there and get a feel for what I will be doing and to see if it is something I would like. He gave me the contact information for the Purchasing Director at the university, and said use that name to help close a sale. Little the Larry know that I knew the Head of Marketing for the athletics at the university and I called to inform him of what was going on.
I came to find out that the name of the Purchasing director he gave me was not only wrong, but that person never worked at the school or even when to the school. I decided to call Larry out on this situation and he blew up, saying that "it's not your job to do things like that, we have already got contracts in place with the university". I told him that I don't have a job with him because nothing was ever signed about pay or compensation. After I explained to Larry my contacts at the university he quickly hung up the phone.
This man, along with his equally trashy assistant Linsey are attempting to do a good thing in the wrong way. They should be ashamed of what they are doing, and what they are doing is simply trying to take $300 to $1000 from a business by misleading them into thinking they are helping out a minor league team, university, or high school. The truth is nothing these scumbags do is what they say it is. If they would state they are trying to earn the universities business by showing them what they can do is one thing, but to lie to people and tell them that a contract is already in place is despicable.
