I received a quote of $60.00 an hour to move a 1 bedroom apt 13 miles to another city, it turned out to be $65.00 an hour because I wasn't paying cash.
A simple move turned into $818.00! I was floored to say the least, but what could I do as a single female, all my furniture on the truck, they don't off load until payment is made in full.
I was charged $330.00 for packing and wrapping alone, I packed all the boxes, they wrapped 4 dining room chairs as if they were being shipped to China, I personally picked those up in my Toyoyta and brought them home, so there was no need for that. I had 3 glass table tops, small medium and large, they went way way over board withe the wrapping, I don't understand why they couldn't blanket wrap them after he put the bubble wrap, but no, he packed each one in 2" of cardboard.
They wrapped the 2 living room lounge chairs, made no sense, my furniture is just average. The same with the 2 cheap dressers in the bedroom.
I did ask for a garmet box, they used 2. I don't mind paying for the services, but $330.00 just for wrapping is outrageous, it was "over kill".
