After being told a buyer was ready to pay for our timeshare that has been on the market for five years, we were optimistic for a sale. When the fee of $1298 was "the only fee we were responsible for", my husband was leary and talked them down to $999 - which they accepted.
After three unanswered calls to get a status of our "sale", we became suspicious. However the credit card had already processed the payment. The cc company is filing a dispute report and helping as much as they can.
This was too easy - they prey on people who are over-eager to sell unused time share property.
While I was instructed to check their bbb rating (which was bogus), I should have googled the scam reports on this "company". If it sounds too good to be true...
