I went to Modern Nissan in Winston Salem NC. And spoke to this sales man named Shawn Brown. I wanted a Nissan Maxima and I had okay credit at the time but he told me that my car that I wanted to trade was in negative equity. I asked him several times how much the car I wanted would be and he told me I couldn't get the Maxima because I owed too much on my present car a 96 Geo Metro. He showed me a 98 Ford Escort and said that was all i could get. I didn't know that the negative equity would be added in on a car that only caused 9000.00, and then with the high intrest rate i will be paying double the price of a car. How could a company give you a loan on a car for more than the value. I will be paying over 21000.00 for a car that was worth 9000.00 ;if that!
