I opted for a free trial off a 3rd party site (not from their website). They posted $2.87 to my account 5/18/09 (pkg is dated 5/15/09); however, I didn't receive the pkg until 5/21/09 and immediately thereafter I found they were trying to debit my account $78.41. This being a holiday weekend, I was unable to speak with anyone at the company; however, I did use their automated process to cancel my account (5/23/09). I also wrote customer service an email stating my objection to the pending debit an asked to return their sample products.
Today, I was finally able to talk personally to someone who claimed that I had passed the trial return date (because they started counting from my opt date; thereby I couldn't conduct a trial — free or otherwise). They offered me a $45 refund and keep the products; however, I was so disgusted I wanted to return their so-called sample products. I spoke not only to a customer service agent but also her supervisor and finally they offerd to refund $60 (after they get their returned product. Note that they tried to debit my account before I could receive their product). The supervisor was belligerent and I informed her I would notify the appropriate Colorado authorities of their misleading and poor business practices.
