I have been involved with CDS Financial Services for about two years now. I had just over $15,000.00 in Credit Card debt which I was managing well to pay more than the minimum payment each month. Then I became ill and had Doctors and Medicines to pay for and just became too much for my monthly income to cover.
I tried to work with the credit card companies but they only increased my minimum payment to a level that I could not meet. I am permanently disabled because of several injuries I suffered on the job. So my income was and is very limited.
I received a phone call from CDS, promising me that they could have me debt free in three years. So I signed on. To shorten the story, It is now going on three years. I am still in debt to the credit card companies. I have had a judgment against me for default. CDS has charged me over $8000.00 in fees and are still continuing to charge me.
By causing me to give them power of attorney they have been taking $287.78 from my personal bank account for the duration of time that I have been associated with them. Only $200.00 of which is actually getting saved toward settling the accounts owed. I try calling their office and never get a return call. I have emailed them through Three different reps. That they have assigned to me.
The excuse was that they were taking another job. I recently got an email through to the latest Rep. Who is accusing me of a threat to him because I asked about getting the phone calls from the credit cards Lawyers stopped. At this time The Rep. Has made the claim that he has spent three years trying to help me but will not produce a single piece of paperwork to that affect.
I have the Credit card company calling me trying to get in touch with Him. With no results. It seems that now they have all their money, they are wanting to make an excuse to drop me as a client. Like the phony threat and now saying that they are not receiving my emails or phone calls. They must be just disappearing!
Seems the only way I have been able to get their attention is recently I sent an email telling them I was being ignored and felt I should be treated better. I was told that a threat report was going to be filed against me and that has been the last I have heard from anyone at CDS.
I need an attorney very badly just to read the contract they faxed my wife.
I would advise anyone looking for help with their Credit card debt to steer clear of these guys. I could have paid off the card with the money they have taken from me in fees.
I feel helpless and hopeless because I have to pay my Doctors to continue getting the amount of treatment I can Afford or they will stop seeing me and getting me some of the meds. I need to function as little as I do. I have had a broken back, seven broken ribs four of which were crushed and needed surgery but I just did not have the money for the copay and Medicare does not discount for bad debt so half of my chest is caved in and hard to breath and I have just recently been diagnosed with severe Fibromyalgia. I am in constant pain with no money for the proper meds.
I recommend that if your Credit card company won't work with you, file bankruptcy. That appears to be the next step for me. But stay away from ripoff's like CDS that make a lot of promises but will only cause you more stress and more debt.
