I was contacted by a man named Shawn Pebbales from Northren Leasing about getting a credit card machine for my new to open Hoby Shop. I told him at the time I was looking into getting one and was wondering how he got my phone number as it was not even listed yet. He did not ansewer me.
He told me he had a heck of a deal for me. I could lease a credit card machine for $39.95 a month plus 1.65% of my sales. Didn't sound to bad! I asked, "Thats all I pay! Right!"No hidden cost?" He said no! That was it!
Then I told him I would think about it and he said if I would sign up that day I would get it for $29.95 a month lease for 4 years! Sounded to good to be true so they sent out this contract next day air and told me to sign right away and send it back the same day. Did not even get a chance to read throught
The following day the machine arrived at my place. 2 days later my first payment was taken out of my checking account and guess what? You got it! It was not the $29.95 that was agreed apoun but $39.95 plus $54.95, plus $9.95 in fees!!! This was before I even used my machine!!! I called up very mad and all they told me was you signed a contract, Live with it!
This went on for 5 months and I only had ran about 15 transactions on the machine. The next month came around and there was another amount taken out for $41.95 and they told me it was a mantinence fee they take out every year!!! I told them this was enough and stoped paying for the machine in Novemeber of last year. Now there are suieng me! The machine was packaged up in the original box and has been there ever sence.
I did some investigating on my own and found ot them machine they leased me was out - dated and was not even legal to use as it could be hacked into very easly while it was being used. Of course they denied it. So now as of me writing this I am waiting for the legal papers from the.
These people should be ashamed of them selfs and should be delt with in a legal way. Biggest rip-off artest I ever ran into. When it sounds to good to be true!!! Be carefull because from these guys, It is!!!
