Ashley Furniture
Dishonest business practise

Store location is Catonsville, Maryland. I was trying to purchase a bed, drawer and office furnitures for my home.in the beginning I doubt if Ashley has given me a good price but the salesman, D.J., used the 90 days no commitment gimmick to attract me, he said, I don't have to decide now, I just need to put 10% down so he can hold the sale price.

If within 90 days you decided not to go through with the sale then just cancel it, anyway they will NOT submit the order unless I put half or more down.

I clarify again and again that I can cancel my purchase in 90 days, I told him I have doubt with the model. He convinced me again I have 90 days to decide.
After about 1 hr going back and forth with those pieces, whether I will be happy with my choises or not finally I ask him for the last time, so... I can cancel my purchase in 90 days if I changed my mind? Right? He said "definitely!"

Another thing that made me shop here is that in Ashley Furniture 's website, there is a BBB symbols!!! This convinced me that this company had been verified and accredited by BBB so the reputation should be trustworhty.

I put down 10% as suggested and went home.
2 weeks later I decided not to pursue buying those from them because I read so many complaints from the web and got scared. I would rather stop now before it is too late.
So I called DJ to cancel my order, now I am in the totally different world, he said I can't cancel my order because it has already passed the 48 hrs!
I argued with him about the 90 days, he did not want to comment on that and keep telling me my 48 hrs is already up unless I want to pay 20% restocking fee.

Then he did not want to talk to me anymore, threw me away to a different guy that is even more intimidating.

Then I read my contract, it did not say 48 hrs, nothing about 48 hrs is written there.
It does say that the purchase is final, no refund. But I have not even gotten a merchandise, it should not be considered a purchase, it is only to hold the sale price, they have not even order my pieces... I only put 10%

Well, up to this point I convinced that I'm facing a crook, a bad companies, they're trying to use bait and switch sale technique to sale thier stuffs, they try to lie as much as they could to mae a sale and they have failed to disclosed their policy even when I was paying my 10% down in the cashier.

D. J was there the whole time convincing me to put more for extended warranty even at the cashier.
D.J. Was so busy convincing me with extended warranty that he failed to explain the most important policy about no refundable purchases.

Obviously this company has trained crook salesmen like D. J to lie to honest buyers like me to make their business.

I was adviced by employees from different furniture stores, I need to stop payment or call the credit card company and notify them about this dispute and I did.

Also if you happen to have this experience, do the same, and also file a complaint to BBB. They should NOT support company with this quality to mislead buyers like me, BB is partly responsible!
