I had gone to SK Furniture and selected a Sofa and Love Seat for purchase on the layaway plan. It was a 30 day layaway plan for a purchase of $599.00. They originally told me that the delivery was included but later it was changed to $100.00 for delivery. I paid $114.16 deposit. They told me that it was just a deposit, they did not make any order and they did not hold anything. They would not do so until I paid 1/2 of the price before they would make the order to have the item made or to hold in layaway until it was paid for. I left the store and about an hour later I returned to cancel the order. They told me that I could not get a refund or exchange on an invoice. I specifically told them that I received no merchandise, they put nothing on hold in layaway and would not until after I paid 1/2 of the purchase price but they would not return my deposit. They said it was a deposit on their invoice. I told them that their invoice says all sales are final - No refunds or exchanges. But I never completed the sale as they did not put the items on hold in layaway nor make any order to make the sofa and love seat. They still refused but that they would either extend the layaway to 90 days or give me an in store credit. Resolution Sought: I would like a refund on my deposit. The invoice was for a sale on layaway. They never made the order for the items that I requested and they never put any items on hold in layaway. Therefore, how can they say that all sales are final when the sale was never completed. I would like a total refund on my deposit of $114.16. I also had every intention to come back to that store to make purchase at a later date but they did not care and showed no customer service.
