Miller-Plante's representative called me tonight, threatening to turn my account over to a collection agency and ruin my credit rating. I sent the product back last month... Unopened. It was picked up from my place of work by the post office; since it was unopened, it was marked return to sender and cost me nothing so I have no receipt. My understanding is that anything sent through the USPS is considered received.
Miller-Plante's rep gave me the 800 number to call to "resolve" this after he offered to SEND ME A NEW BOX and only bill me $100 for the two boxes instead of $179. I refused that offer: I sent it back and don't owe any money.
The new representative was quite rude, informing me that "everyone claims to have sent it back" but without a receipt I must pay the $179. He informed me that "anyone" could write an affadavit for me saying I returned it. Finally he agreed that the US Postmaster was an acceptable person to sign an affadavit that the postal worker who picked up the package was an honest person.
