Low Pay Card, Inc
Unauthorized charges, scamming

It absolutely disgusts me that in the state our economy is in with countless people struggling to make it paycheck to paycheck these bottom-feeders are getting fat on the wages of hard-working people that can't afford it!

I got an lpc card in the mail with the 7500 credit line, and I called to activate it. The lady was very friendly, answered all my questions and explained I would be charged 79.99 the following friday and 139.95 the friday after that. Then I looked at their catalogue and saw that most of their merchandise is things I have no use for. I sell electronics for a living, and the brands of electronics are brands I've never heard of, except Coby which we sell in our store, but it's the cheapest, crappiest brand we carry. I saw that the first charge of 79.99 was nonrefundable but the one for 139.95 could be refunded within 30 days. So I called a couple days prior to when I would be charged asking to cancel. The rep I spoke with said I was scheduled to receive a packet and could get a refund when it arrived. I said "you mean I have to wait for it to get here to get a refund? Couldn't you just cancel so I won't get charged to begin with?" She said "I'll try" put me on hold for a while and then said she couldn't stop the charge because it was pending but did cancel the membership. I was left under the impression that I would be refunded later.

I called a week later asking why I still hadn't been refunded. The rep told me that because I cancelled before the package arrived, I had "cancelled out of contract" and therefore there were no refunds. I was taken aback and said that condition was not explained to me. He said - in a very condescending way - that those were the conditions I chose because I wouldn't have been cancelled otherwise. I again told him that it wasn't explained to me that way, he said I chose to waive the refund. I got angry and said "so you're just out to take people's money and give them nothing for it" he got very defensive, I voiced my displeasure and hung up.

The next day I tried them again, this time the rep sent me to a manager, I explained that I wasn't aware when they cancelled me that there were no refunds. Again, there were idle, circular arguments that I would have had to have agreed to those terms, so she basically called me a liar. I said "if you can't give me a refund, could my membership be reactivated?" She said "no, it doesnt work that way" and said I would have to pay again. She was very rude and condescending. I said there was clearly a miscommunication because I wanted to either cancel and not get charged or get a refund later, she said "there was no miscommunication, people choose to cancel all the time" people choose to leave $120 on the table all the time? I call bullsh*t! After several minutes of idle, circular arguing, I told her that if I don't receive a refund then lpc better use the money toward a lawyer after a class action lawsuit gets filed. She laughed and said sarcastically "okay, i'll make a note that we need to use $120 toward hiring a lawyer. Is there anything else we can do for you today?" I said "yeah, you can all (blank) yourselves" and hung up.

Fortunately, I reported the $139.95 charge to my bank as a fraudulent charge and they reversed it on the condition that I close my account and open a different one so they couldn't take any more out. I am very grateful for that, but unfortunately other people have not been so lucky with their banks.

I hope enough people take action against these scumbags so they won't do this to anymore hard-working people!

Low Integrity Card is what those thieves should call themselves!!!
