I am thankful for finding this website before I lost $298. Although I did have to cancel my checking account. On April 10th I got a call from the Credit Education Group. They promised a Visa or MasterCard with a $2,500 limit. All I needed to do was let them withdraw the $298.00 set up fee from my checking or Savings account.
At first I was skeptical and asked questions. They told me the card would have a $500 cash advance, no annual fees and 9% APR. When I asked what bank the card would be from, she told me either Bank One or Bank of America; those are the two banks they deal with.
Next, I was transfered to someone else for verification, When he went over the verification, he talked very fast and said "if" you get approved for a card. I aked about this and he said that I was already approved, the only reason he had to say that was because some people have lied about their income or have filed for bankruptcy. I was definitely approved as long as I didn't lie about either I would receive my card.
I still had a bad feeling about the company. I tried to call the company and kept getting an answering machine. Finally, I tried looking them up on the Internet and found this website. I am very glad that I found this site before I got ripped off.
