I contacted University to inquire about leasing a 2009 Mazda under the manufacturer's lease special far the Month of March, for a sepific model The sales person on the phone went into telling me the specials did not apply to their inventory (it did) and even mis-stated the offers on Mazda Web Site. Denying what I was after was available, even though their inventory lisited it or I would have never inquired. It was the all too familiar "screw job" getting under way so I emailed him back telling them I was not in the mood to get "violated" and no further contact was required on his part.

Well, that started a barrage of insulting emails from his boss telling me what a low life was etc. Since I live 200 miles away, I have never been in their show room or will not be thanks to their vitriolic remarks that was rendered after I suggested they aquaint themselves with the concept of "consumer sovereignty" which could be found in any econ 101 textbook.intending that it is me, a consumer, and not them that is the final arbiter of whether a deal is acceptable or not. We never got to a deal. All I got was evasive answers. That touched off another barrage of insult.

Fascinating when you think about all their effort to belittle since no way will ever venture into their world again. Their continued barrage of insulting emails (I blocked them on my telephone) only demonstrates that they are dealer to stay away from. Unless you like being jerked around and insulted, even when you said that you no further interest in discussing my purchase needs.

Like most of the dealers I have been acquainted with in NM over the past few years, they demonstrate a failing business model. The one that the big three has practiced for so long... That for every customer lost, 5 new ones show up... Those days are over. Yet, dealers like University Mazda still conduct business as if it's all about them... The customer is just inconvenient commodity to be violated, humiliated and discarded in favor of the next one. Ironic don;t you think? That such attitudes persist in spite of the handwriting on the wall—thier economic future is in doubt.
